With the dust settling after Saturdays play off final defeat the feeling is obviously one of disappointment. The players have been outstanding all season long and the effort and work rate they've shown throughout the season deserved a better ending but football can be a cruel game.
There's no doubting that on the day Brighouse deserved the win and i genuinely hope they go on to be promoted. What we can't do is let that 1 game deflect the huge strides we've taken as a club in recent years. As I've said football can sometimes be a cruel game but we've certainly had more good days than bad.
We'd just like to thank all the supporters who came out in big numbers to the semi final, final and throughout the season both home and away. Your support was massively appreciated and we hope to see the club continue to grow in that respect.
We'd also like to thank the army of volunteers who gave up time to help out around the ground over recent months ensuring that the club passed the grading to play Evo-Stik football next year. We've had a quick rise up the leagues over the last 3 years and with that came a lot of work. Without all your help it wouldn't have been possible.
As a management team the players know just how proud we are of them. They've given us everything we've asked and they should be proud of everything they've achieved this season against all odds. As a group they were written off and told by outside sources that they'd be relegated and they answered those questions in the best way possible. Theres a special spirit amongst that group of players and they can certainly hold there heads high. They will 100% be stronger for the experience.
We might be hurting now but rest assured when the 2019/20 season kicks of we'll be ready bigger, stronger and more prepared than ever for the challenge in front.
